Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always adored babies. I was definitely that girl who wanted to hold all the newborns and had my fair share of baby dolls at home to care for, love on and hold onto until I fell asleep. Yep, kids, especially babies have always had a special place in my heart and now I’m a mom of FOUR. Wow!!!
I still can’t believe that Isabelle is finally here as a part of our family, much less that 3 months have already come and gone. She is definitely one of the best blessings that came out of the whirlwind year that 2020 was!
As we’re entering into her fourth month of life, I feel like she’s changing so much, adjusting well to a routine, and starting to come into her own. I don’t want to miss a thing so I’m writing these updates as a way to remember all of the joy that she’s bringing into our family month by month, at least until she turns ONE. 🙂
I have to say that this stage is one of my absolute favorites because now that Isabelle is three months old, she is smiling A LOT and we couldn’t be more excited!!! The joy she has is contagious and oh so sweet! She makes our bad days better and fills each and every one of us with a joy that is unexplainable. I love that her brother and sisters adore her and will do anything to take care of her, help her and keep her safe.
I’m not sure how I got blessed with such amazing kids, but I’m beyond grateful to be their mom. It’s definitely one of my greatest adventures! I understand why the scripture says…
“Don’t you see that children are God’s best gift?
the fruit of the womb his generous legacy?
Like a warrior’s fistful of arrows
are the children of a vigorous youth.
Oh, how blessed are you parents,
with your quivers full of children!
Your enemies don’t stand a chance against you;
you’ll sweep them right off your doorstep.”
Psalm 127: 3-5 The MSG
Now, back to the update, lol…
As I was saying, now that Isabelle is three months old, she’s smiling a lot more, moving her arms and legs more and is incredibly intrigued by fans, clapping, and anything high up. She LOVES to look up and face outward when she’s being held so that she can see the world around her! She’s a big cuddle bug and already a big talker (surprise, surprise, I know – I shouldn’t expect anything less from a Martin girl)!
She still spits up some and struggles with gas at times but is doing much better than she was in months 1 and 2, so I’m thankful! She’s also getting the hang of a *loose* schedule and sleeps pretty well at night (for the most part). She loves to take a bath in the evening, drink her milk and get cozy and comfy in her Aden + Anais swaddling blanket before she dozes off to bed. If our timing is right, she’ll sleep anywhere from 5 to 8 hours! Although she’s doing pretty well sleeping now, the other three kids give me a run for my money most nights, so I’m still rocking team #nosleep for now! Thank God for coffee in the mornings!
But enough about me… Here are three things Isabelle is loving right now
- Fisher Price My Little Snugamonkey Bouncer
- I have always love Fisher Price bouncers and swings and so have each one of my children!! Just about every time Isabelle gets in her bouncer, a big smile overtakes her sweet face and she starts to move her legs and arms ferociously as she starts cooing at the monkeys that are dangling in front of her! Another perk about this bouncer is that her siblings can come along side her and help bounce her when her legs get too tired to do the work! They enjoy it and so does she, so it’s a win-win for all!
- Dock A Tot Deluxe+
- The first time I got a Dock A Tot was for Annaliese a little over two years ago when she was born. This product wasn’t as popular four to six years ago when I had Michael and Elizabeth. But I will say that Isabelle is absolutely loving hers!! It’s a great addition if I want to take a walk outside with the older kids, I can just take the Dock A Tot and place it in the wagon! She gets to lounge/sleep while I’m watching the other kids have a blast doing whatever they’re doing! She just looks so cozy in her Dock A Tot Deluxe+ all of the time!! I wish they made these for grown ups!
- No judgements are necessary here ha! I mean everyone loves Target, right? I start training my kids early and I have to say that Isabelle has fallen in love with Target! As long as she’s cozy in her car seat and moving, she loves the entire experience!
And there you have it, Isabelle’s three month update and what she’s loving right now! Until next month!
